A place for sharing pictures, experiences, and thoughts with my friends and family. Started as a way to keep in touch while I spent 15 months away from my family in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
We've been training in unarmed combat off and on this week. The Army teaches a modified version of Brazilian Jujitsu (or so i was told) and the techniques they teach mostly deal with ground fighting. We paired up with each other in one-on-one wrestling matches. In this picture, I'm wrestling with SPC Mercado from another section. This is more training I hope to never have to use for real.
If you're curious, the answer is: yes. I did end up winning the match with SPC Mercado. I got behind him and put him in a "rear naked choke hold" and he submitted.

So is that how you keep the enlisted in line?

Answer: exactly.
dude, the "rear naked choke hold" sounds like something from Clintons New Army, and that it should be done alone and with some privacy..
