Sarah

Sarah is crawling all over the place now, but that's not good enough for her. She only crawls long enough to get to something she can use to pull herself up into a standing position. She can even stand while holding on to something with only one hand.
She still has only two teeth... both on the bottom front jaw. She looks really cute when she smiles with them.

Hunter is a huge train fan, so I decided to take him on a short day train trip this past Sunday. We got up before the crack of dawn and rode Amtrak down to check out the Santa Barbar Zoo. We saw lions, giraffes, elephants, penguins, sheep, river otters, apes, and alligators; Hunter enjoyed himself immensely and took a 90 minute nap on the return trip home. More pictures are available on my flickr account.

Master of my domain

You might just have noticed that the address for my blog has changed. oh, robwooldridge.blogspot.com will still work, but www.robwooldridge.com just looks so much cleaner, doesn't it?

Monkey Controls Robot Using Only its Mind

Bizarre science breakthrough of the week...
Monkey at Duke University controls a walking robot in Japan using only its mind.
I, for one, welcome our new robo-monkey overlords.

Christmas Photo

While my parents were in town over the holidays, we all went down to get our portraits taken. Sarah and Hunter did pretty well, considering how hard taking pictures of little kids can be.

Cavalry Campaign Hat

Cavalry Trooper1

Since my reserve unit is assigned to the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment, soldiers are authorized to wear the 1901 campaign hat for ceremonial / formal functions. I ordered my hat a couple of months back and it finally came in the mail today. Hunter graciously volunteered to model the hat for the pictures.
